Classes

Hi Wonderful Person,

Time for a new semester at Warwick Pottery! It's still cold...but it will most assuredly be warmer by the end of this coming semester's offerings, right?

This semester will be a mini semester..only four weeks long!

Her's the schedule:

Mondays, 3/1,8,15,and 22...

7-10PM...$120.

Wednesdays, 3/3,10, 17, 24

7:30-10:30...$120.

and 2-5PM...$120.

In order for a class to be held a minimum of four registrants are needed. So, classes may be cancelled, and apologies are extended if that happens.

Please note that class fees are due on the first day of class, and firing fees are due on the last. Firing fees are charged following the following simple system. Each piece is weighed on it’s way into the kiln. The charge is $3. per pound of clay per firing. There are usually two firings. So...if a mug weighs 1 pound it will cost $6.00 in firing fees.  That’s $3. for the first firing, and $3. for the second firing. This equals the final firing cost of $6.00.

Miss a class? No problem! You are welcome to make up a class during the current semester at another of the classes.

Private classes are available too, and are arranged by phone.

 Hope to see everybody!

Classes may change based on registration. Please note that tuition is due on the first day of class, and is not refundable after the first class date. Firing fees are due on the last day of class. Please understand that supplies are purchased for you and a seat is reserved for you, all based on your requesting registration in a class. Thanks! Also, see below for make up policy.

All you have to bring is a towel!

Kindly pay your firing fees by the end of the semester! See below for details...

.Firing fees apply to all classes and all private instruction

($3.00 per pound of clay per firing)

Please note that firing fees are different and separate from class fees, and are not transferable.

Firing fees are due at the end of the semester.

Please be considerate of your teacher's time! Because of the nature of the studio, the time and space of the entire studio before and after your class is reserved for you.

Please understand that payment for that time is expected if you do not allow sufficient time for other events to occur. Your thoughtfulness and consideration is appreciated.

Party-of-two:.private instruction...second person is half price! (for two people..$75 for one hour and $115. for one and a half hours)  Kindly see above for cancellation policy.

Firing fees

Firing fees apply for all pottery made in all classes. Each piece is weighed before it goes into the kiln. Charges are $3.00 per pound of clay for each firing. Usually pieces require two firings. So...if you make a mug and it weighs one pound, the bisquit, or first firing will cost $3.00 and the glaze firing will cost $3.00. Final charge for firing your mug? $6.00!

In this way, you may  stop the firing process after the  bisquit firing, and not pay glazing charges should you choose to do so.

All firing fees are due at the end of the semester. Class fees and firing fees are not transferable..please understand that class fees are service fees and firing fees are goods fees.

Parties! Groups! Scouts! ...1 hour and 15 minutes of fun and education...two projects, one on the wheel and one table project..for only $20. per youth..( under 14) and $30. per adult. Firing fees included tor one firing for group activities.

Please see below for more important FAQ's and info....

Tools

The only needed item to bring with you is a towel! If you decide to bring tools, please be sure to write your name on ALL tools with indelible, waterproof marker...Thanks! (Tools have a habit of looking alike when covered with clay, and migrate to the studio tool stock. Please be careful!)

Missed Classes

When planning for vacations, time away from the wonderful world of clay for other reasons including cancellations for snow, etc...and you can't make it to class, please be sure to make up that time DURING the current semester. Warwick Pottery will offer another similar class, usually scheduled on your assigned class day, when closed for snow. You are also welcome to make up your missed class(es) during another class time when there is a seat available, during that current semester only.  Always call, please, to let me know that you can't make it!  Thanks.

Please note the following important yakkity yak:

Please pay your tuition at the beginning of the semester. After the first  scheduled class of the semester, tuition is not refundable. Please remember that a seat has been saved for you, and goods have been purchased for you to use, all based on your agreement or request to attend classes.

Thanks for understanding this important policy.

Are class fees and firing fees transferable?

Please know that there are two separate fee structures at a pottery class. One is for goods ( your clay, glaze materials, and at least two separate firings of each piece.) One is for services ( class or instruction time, studio time.) The fees are not transferable!

Please, remittance for class time may not be applied to firing fees.

Each student can quickly and easily keep track of expenses in his/her section of the large binder in the studio. There you will find a detailed record of each semester on one page, and of each piece that is fired on subsequent pages. . PLEASE look at your page, and remit payment for firings and classes in a timely manner. Class fees should be paid at the beginning of the semester, and firing fees by the end of each semester.

Thanks!

Unless the student requests it, or an inordinate amount of time has passed, a bill will not be prepared for firings.  Warwick Pottery realizes that this honor system dates back to a "hippie" belief system...but, "Oh well!...we are a trusting organization!" So, please check your section often.

Thanks, again.

May I stay late after class to finish a project?

Yes, as long as there is not a class directly after yours.

Please keep it reasonable, perhaps 30 minutes, max. And, you will not be charged for this creative time. Please note that the instructor will leave direclty after class, or will be preparing to leave during this time, or will be cleaning up, loading the kiln, or perhaps  using that time to finish personal work.

So, please ask for all instruction during your class time, not afterward!

Classes are 3 hours long, usually sufficient for completing your work and clean up. However, the creative muse often runs late...we understand!

Thank you for being a part of

Warwick Pottery!
