Open Studio Tour! Sunday December 13, 2009 10:30-5:30 Please join me and the other artists on the Warwick Studio Tour. Great gifts, really interesting people will be opening their studios for you to sample some of the artists' lives. If you come here, chances are you'll be able to make a pot with Marilyn on the potter's wheel! More clay art will be at my friend Bea Bloom's studio, too. Please check her ware out, too. Do go to the website for lots of information... http://warwickstudiotour.info ...................................................................... Welcome to the Warwick Pottery Studio...a fun learning place and private studio! History: In the late 1980s, "ShaktiPots" was born! The name was taken from a word I had learned from my Guru, Acharya Sushil Kumar, a Jain monk. It's a reference to the energy given by the guru to his disciple. After realizing that almost no one (!)could remember the name of my studio and school, I named it after the beautiful town where the studio is located: Warwick, N.Y. The school was closed for a little while in the 1990s, and reopened in 2005 with great support from the community and beyond! Thank you all! We have a wonderful time making lots of pots here. Most all are fired in an electric kiln to ^6, or stoneware temperatures. We are very careful to use non toxic glazes. And...every class is a party! Really! Laughs, fun, and clay...what could be better?
