Welcome to the Warwick Pottery Studio...a fun learning place and private studio! History: In the late 1980s, "ShaktiPots" was born! The name was taken from a word I had learned from my Guru, Acharya Sushil Kumar, a Jain monk. It's a reference to the energy given by the guru to his disciple. After realizing that almost no one (!)could remember the name of my studio and school, I named it after the beautiful town where the studio is located: Warwick, N.Y. The school was closed for a little while in the 1990s, and reopened in 2005 with great support from the community and beyond! Thank you all! We have a wonderful time making lots of pots here. Most all are fired in an electric kiln to ^6, or stoneware temperatures. We are very careful to use non toxic glazes. And...every class is a party! Really! Laughs, fun, and clay...what could be better?
